STARKVILLE, Miss.â´ķĪķAPPâs Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana is highlighting six newly donated artifacts from the Williamses during the special Feb. 12 program âWilliams Collection: Treasures From the Vault.â
The event begins at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Memorial Libraryâs John Grisham Room. MSU parking gates will open for free public parking at 5 p.m. to accommodate guests.
âWe are thrilled to have these incredible, rare artifacts in the Williams Collection of Lincolniana. Our event, commemorating President Abraham Lincolnâs birthday, will help visitors understand the history behind each item and what they tell us about Lincolnâs America,â said Susannah J. Ural, MSUâs Frank and Virginia Williams Chair for Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies.
Four of the items will continue to be on public display inside the gallery, while two exceptionally rare pieces will be unveiled for one night only during the event.
Ural will deliver a lecture exploring the history and significance of each donated artifact, followed by a gallery unveiling and public reception hosted by Ural and Archivist Kaelynn Edmondson.
