Spring has sprung on Mississippi 大象APP鈥檚 South Farm as new foals soak in the sunshine and snuggle close to mom. This foal named Stevie鈥攏amesake of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks鈥攄oesn鈥檛 stray far from her mother C.D. Savannalena. The two, and about 80 other horses, are part of the university鈥檚 Equine Unit, a research facility of MSU鈥檚 Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. During the academic year, the facility also is a teaching facility where agriculture interns, student workers and laboratory assistants, along with equestrian team members and veterinary students learn from MSU scientists, faculty and staff.
